Ford Focus CC

Ford's new Convertible Coupe, the Focus CC is released later this year, and no doubt the company would have loved to have had it in the showrooms for the fantastic summer we've been having in 2006.
Despite being late to market, Ford hope that their prices which are set lower than those for the Vauxhall Astra Twin Top will help them catch up in the CC sector. List prices start from a little under £17,000 which is a shade cheaper than the Astra. Conversely, Volkswagen who, are also late to the sector with their new Eos, have plumped for a considerably higher starting price of over £19,500.
Despite the low cost, the Ford CC should have a decent specification. Alloy wheels, Aircon, CD stereo system should all be included in the price, even on the lowest specification model, the CC-1. The range also includes the CC-2 and CC-3 which cost a little more, but which of course have even more goodies as standard (including leather seats and cruise control on the latter).
As usual, Ford's trusty 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines will be available in the new car, as will the company's 143bhp 2.0 litre diesel engine. Not many years ago you could hardly find a diesel convertible and there was probably no demand for them anyway, whereas today, the mainstream manufacturers all seem to be including the diesel as an important option in their convertible cars.
