New Mini

A new Mini Cooper S will be seen by the public for the first time at the Paris Motor show in September 2006.
The new car features numerous styling changes, but perhaps more significantly the Supercharged engine of the S is replaced by a new 1.6 litre Turbocharged unit. The new Turbo engine willl produce 175bhp which will be sufficient to propel the new S from 0-60 in around 7 seconds, and in addition, fuel economy is said to be considerably better than the old model.
The new car also features revised suspension components which are said to ehnance the ride and handling.
The size of the new car is almost exactly the same as the old one, and despite the styling changes, non-enthusiasts probably won't really notice the difference. But keen Mini fans will welcome the new look with its enhanced performance and even better handling.

Other Information

IAM 50 years old this year

One of Britain's few independent motoring organisations is now 50 years old, and is holding a number of special events across the country to celebrate that fact. While many motoring groups have fallen by the wayside, or have become profit making companies, the IAM continues to forge its own route in a bid to improve driving standards.

Vauxhall Corsa 2006

Vauxhall's new Corsa hits the showrooms in September this year (2006) and the company are hopeful that it will be a huge success.

Vauxhall Antara SUV

Mazda RX-8 PZ

Fans of Mazda's brilliant rotary engined coupe will have been excited by the launch of the Prodrive tweaked RX-8 PZ. The 800 specials offer unique 18" alloy wheels and ride height is lowered using Eibach springs.

Renault Clio Renaultsport 197

The hotter hatch version of Renault's new Clio is now available and not surpisingly it's called the 197 because that's the number of horses available from its 2.0 engine.

Honda S2000 improvements

Honda's every popular (and apparently ever reliable) S2000 gets another set of specification changes this summer (2006).

Mazda CX-7

Building on the huge success of their RX-8 and the new MX-5, Mazda have now developed yet another cool vehicle in the form of the CX-7. The new model won't be in UK showrooms until early 2007, but it looks like it might well be worth waiting for if you're in the market for a medium size petrol engined SUV.
