Toyota MR2 Lives on?
|
Toyota fans distraught at the news of the MR2s demise currently have two options if they want to get their hands on a fantastic Toyota mid-engined sports car.
Toyota have announced that the last 300 run out versions of their fantastic MR2 sports car will be available as special editions each uniquely numbered from 300 down to 1. Contact your Toyota dealer quickly if you want one, especially if you want to reserve a particular number such as 007 etc (we suspect that 001 is already reserved by Toyota, but could be wrong). | | After these vehicles roll off the production line, the only option for potential buyers will be to look at the second hand market, or else to purchase an Elise which is now available with both the MR2's VVTi engine (in the Elise S) or the more powerful VVTLi variant (in the Elise 111S). Priced at about £24,000 and £28,000 respectively, the two Lotus options are somewhat more expensive than the MR2, but they are of course significantly lighter and arguably have a more prestige badge. | | If you're set on a new MR2, then act quickly while supplies last.
