Volvo C30
|
Volvo's new small car, the C30 will be shown to the public for the first time at the Paris Motorshow in September 2006.
The new range allows Volvo to join the prestige German marques in the small car sector and prices will start at around the £15,000 level. A T5 variant with a 217bhp output will be available from the launch date, together with several other engine options. | | The body style is distinctly sporting coupe along the lines of the classic P1800 and the more recent 1800ES. Looks wise, the Volvo is certainly different from other manufactuers offerings, and Volvo hope that there plenty of buyers tempted by the new style. | | The new car shares its platform with the current Ford Focus and the Mazda 3, and as a result should have the handling to match its power, though whether it can compete with the best of the rear wheel drive offerings in this sector, such as the BMW 1 Series, remains to be seen.
